CANDLES

Have you got guests coming over?

Try burning a neutral and comforting fragrance in your living space, like French Pear, as they are non-invasive and give your guests the feeling of being welcomed and at ease.

A candle flame needs oxygen to 'breathe'

Keep this in mind as you burn candles in a small, enclosed room. Perhaps try a soy melts or reed diffuser in a smaller space.

Do you use Paraffin Wax?

MBB uses natural soy wax rather than paraffin wax and therefore have none of the chemicals associated with paraffin. Soy candles burn cleaner and last 30% longer than a comparable paraffin candle.

What type of wick do you use?

Our wicks are lead-free cotton.

Which fragrances are the strongest when burning?

Fragrance is an incredibly personal thing and while some fragrances are lighter and fresher others are more full-bodied and thus stronger. Coconut & Lime and Vanilla are among the strongest.

Why is there black residue on the inside of my candle?

Black residue may appear on the glass of your candle if the wick is not trimmed. Ensure the wick is always kept upright and trimmed to 5-6mm before use and each time you relight your candle. The black reside can be wiped away with a paper towel or cloth.

SOY MELTS

What is a Soy Melt?

Melts are for use in oil burners as an alternative to mixing oils and water. Soy Melts are a safer alternative to using water as there is no chance of the dish burning dry as (unlike water) the wax does not evaporate.

How to use a melt?

Simply snap a soy wax cube off and pop it in the top of your burner and light the tea light below! Once the tea light is extinguished, the wax will harden. To change to another fragrance, just pour the slightly cooled wax back into the container (or bin if the fragrance is gone) and wipe out your burner with a paper towel.

How long does a melt last?

The fragrance in each melt lasts approximately 10 hours.

DIFFUSERS

How do I open my diffuser?

MBB diffusers are packaged carefully to ensure the oil from the diffuser does not spill. To open, unscrew the lid and remove the plastic stopper from the decanter (I use a teaspoon to protect my nails). Replace the lid and place the reeds into the decanter. The natural reeds will absorb the oil and fill your room with a long lasting fragrance.

Can I buy diffuser refills?

MBB does not sell diffuser refills. After 6-8 months when the fragrance is absorbed, the reeds will also need replacing, so we recommend purchasing a new diffuser.

Why does the diffuser liquid discolour?

You may see some discolouration in your diffuser liquid over time. This does not mean your product is faulty. Direct sunlight can contribute to the discolouration of diffuser liquid, so be sure to place your diffuser out of direct sunlight.
